A call was made. The Kids would be in town for a week, maybe two.

Would we be able to record a record?

This was the question posed, and then answered in 2003 with the Exploding Hearts (In June) EP. Even though HB was hard at work on two other full-lengths that year, time was easily made for the Killowatt Kids.

What results is a poppier take on the HB sound; if you said Beach Boys, no offense would be taken. Only 24 minutes or so long but chock full of melodies/maladies, including a cover of Jonathan Richman's classic, Everything's Gotta be Right.
